Senior Director, Source to Pay

Description

We are seeking a transformative Senior Director, Source to Pay (S2P) to own the end-to-end S2P value chain-from category strategy and strategic sourcing through contracting, requisition to purchase order, goods/services receipt, invoice processing, and payment. As the executive owner of the S2P operating model, you will define strategy, build processes, implement enabling technology, and deliver measurable commercial outcomes, while serving as a visible partner to senior executives. In your first 12–18 months, you will establish a robust, standardized E2E S2P process and governance model covering sourcing and category management, contracting, vendor master onboarding, PO compliance, invoice processing, payments, employee expense reimbursement and Global Corp Card Management. You will implement or optimize S2P technology; and upskill and reorganize the team into a cohesive unit with clear accountabilities, service levels, and indicators. You will increase spend under management, improve speed and compliance (PO compliance, cycle times), reduce risk and leakage, and drive working capital benefits (e.g., DPO optimization).

Responsibilities
  • Lead a distributed team of about 35, including 6 direct reports across US and Australia; unify silos into one high performing organization.
  • Set organizational design, RACI, and a talent roadmap; recruit, coach, and build capability.
  • Embed clear goals and achievements, operating rhythms, and a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and complete a multiyear S2P strategy aligned to business priorities and TCO outcomes.
  • Stand up the global operating model (policies, process architecture, SLAs/OLAs) and governance forums.
  • Establish compliant approval workflows, standard templates, and structured change management for process and system changes.
  • Map, standardize, and document end-to-end processes with robust controls and clear handoffs.
  • Drive PO first purchasing, three-way match, and exception reduction; target best-in-class cycle times.
  • Embed supplier risk/ESG checkpoints and auditability across the lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to global compliance requirements, including tax regulations (e.g., 1099/1042), internal controls, and SOX standards, while driving adoption of global tools and platforms.
  • Lead enterprise category strategies and sourcing pipelines across key spend areas.
  • Deliver value via competitive negotiation frameworks and contracting playbooks with Legal.
  • Measure realized benefits with Finance; increase spend under management and reduce leakage.
  • Implement guided buying, catalogs, and user-friendly channels to improve compliance and adoption.
  • Run a high performing AP function with global coverage; increase first pass yield and on time payments.
  • Optimize working capital (DPO), payment terms, and discount capture; reduce duplicates and aged items.
  • Develop and implement a global strategy to drive automation, reduce cycle times, and improve data accuracy and visibility
  • Serve as product owner for S2P platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba) and ERP integrations.
  • Lead selection/implementation/optimization; drive adoption with enablement and change management.
  • Build dashboards for critical metrics, spend cubes, and supplier scorecards; deploy RPA/OCR/AI to reduce cost to serve.
  • Establish supplier segmentation, onboarding, performance/QBRs, and corrective action frameworks.
  • Integrate third party risk (financial, cyber/privacy, continuity, sanctions) proportional to supplier criticality.
  • Advance ESG goals (scope 3, supplier diversity, ethical sourcing) and transparently report outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior executives and business unit leaders; translate needs into sourcing and P2P roadmaps.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and results through streamlined executive materials and governance forums.
  • Institutionalize continuous improvement; publish and deliver against targets for savings, PO compliance, cycle times, first pass invoice yield, on time payment, and DPO.
Requirements
  • 15+ years in AP/Procurement/S2P or related fields, including 7+ years leading managers and global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Proven track record building an integrated S2P organization out of siloed functions and delivering largescale process/technology transformations.
  • Handson leadership of S2P platform implementations/optimizations (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba)
  • Deep expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, contracting, P2P operations, and accounts payable.
  • Strong financial competence: benefit baselining, realized savings, working capital/DPO optimization, and cost to serve modelling.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, tax (GST/VAT), e-invoicing, and supplier risk management.
  • Builder’s orientation: designs for scale, simplifies complex systems, and leaves durable processes, not heroics.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can influence at C-Suite level and energize frontline teams.
  • Inclusive people leader who develops talent, delegates effectively, and creates space for growth.
  • Bias for measurable results: sets ambitious targets and holds self/team accountable.
  • High integrity and judgement; comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • Bachelor’s degree, in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., MCIPS, CPSM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green Belt) are advantageous.
Benefits
  • Robust benefits package
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching
