Description

As a Production Database Automation Engineer, you will deliver solutions to complex automation, remediation, monitoring and capacity management problems. The Production Database team is responsible for building and supporting multiple database technologies and their environments ensuring they have good performance, availability, scalability, and security. The team predominantly works with C# .NET and Golang alongside SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Spanner database servers, including On-Premises and Cloud. You will work within a demanding data environment that handles thousands of transactions per second. In this role, every millisecond counts towards ensuring the operational performance of our website and systems, presenting exceptional opportunities for your development as a data professional. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing new features onto the existing tooling or creating new tools to aid in product development.
  • Working with automation and orchestration platforms such as Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Maintaining clean coding practices and ensuring high quality code.
  • Identifying technical areas of improvement.
  • Contributing to solution proposals.
  • Supporting and enhancing the existing codebase.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Business.
  • Documenting completed work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related discipline, or relevant industry experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of C# .NET, Golang, React, Transact SQL. (required)
  • Good understanding of Powershell, Ansible, Python and Linux Shell. (required)
  • Complex event process/continuous query languages. (required)
  • Client/Server development experience. (required)
  • Use of AI technologies for enhancing developer productivity. (required)
  • Exposure to version control technologies, such as Git. (required)
  • Ability to problem solve. (required)
  • Excellent communication and team working skills. (required)
