Programming Specialist I

Description

The Programming Specialist I reports into the Programming pillar of the Audience Engagement team and is responsible for carrying out daily sportsbook programming, ensuring the right content is in the right place at the right time for the right customers. The Programming team operates on a 365-day, two-shift schedule. The Programming Specialist I is a foundational contributor focused on accurate execution of content programming and learning core tools, workflows, and systems. This role will work directly with the two additional Audience Engagements pillars: Experience (responsible for optimizing the customer betting experience through data-led planning, A/B testing, and removing points of friction) and Enablement (responsible for providing the Audience Engagement with appropriate tooling and workflows to support speed and scale). Scope of function for the Programming Specialist I role includes but is not limited to daily sportsbook programming across all existing states and territories, content-based A/B test programming, sitemap management and updates, and contributing to process enhancements for the Audience Engagement team at-large - all in the name of delivering content to our audience in the most efficient means possible and amplifying the customer experience at all times. At the end of the day, we are working together to build best-in-class customer experiences for millions of users – with the primary goal of being the biggest and best online sports and gaming operator in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Execute daily content programming tasks across the app, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of content
  • Configure features (e.g., carousels, modules, banners) according to content plans and established standards
  • Follow defined workflows, checklists, and QA processes to ensure high-quality execution
  • Program and monitor multiple layouts at once based on customer data points
  • Understand landscape of A/B testing and program pre-defined tests to support roadmap
  • Engage with cross-functional teams like Trading and Promotions, ensuring relevant content is accurate across teams
  • Program and maintain non-sports content areas across the platform, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for house rules, privacy policies, sitemap, responsible gaming resources, Customer Support messaging, and more
  • Monitor live content to ensure accuracy, functionality, and visual consistency across platforms
  • Looks for opportunities to optimize live displays based for real-time progression of events, breaking news, and shifts in betting activity
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in naming conventions, imagery, and other merchandising components
  • Contribute to documentation updates by flagging workflow ambiguities or inconsistencies
  • Flag content gaps, bugs, or execution blockers for escalation and resolution
  • Collaborate with Enablement and Experience teams to provide feedback on tools, content display, or customer experience
  • Develop familiarity with sports calendars, betting markets, and app engagement behaviors
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in operations, content programming, audience engagement or a related digital content or support role
  • Experience working within a content management system (CMS) or other digital content tool
  • Comfort working with complex systems or platforms and learning new tools quickly
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple daily tasks
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency in execution
  • Ability to follow structured workflows and adapt to process changes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly document or flag issues
  • Flexible and team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to take direction and ask questions
  • Experience with QA, bug reporting, or cross-functional collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is a plus
  • Familiarity with sports betting, gaming, or a related industry is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally domestically and/or internationally
  • Prior experience with sports, casino, and/or gaming websites and mobile apps
  • Demonstrating a strong interpersonal skill set – being able to communicate with team members effectively and emphatically at all levels within an organization
  • Being an innovative thinker, someone not afraid to challenge the status quo and ask questions
  • Showing a true passion for this industry inclusive of sports, casinos, and entertainment
