Platform Core DevOps Engineer - Infra
We are hiring a Platform Core DevOps Engineer - Infra to join our Product Development organisation. This role is for an ambitious DevOps Engineer eager to jump into a world of complex challenges to modernise web and globally distributed applications. You will be working with cutting-edge technology enabling our Cloud Journey. The Platform Core team is responsible for managing Infrastructure as Code for parts of our Core Platform Layer, providing a distributed runtime platform that ensures optimal performance of our business web applications, APIs and backend services. You will also be building our Infrastructure Platforms as self-service to our developers and providing guidance and tooling for developers to self-manage their applications cross environments. This role involves continuously improving and developing our platforms based on business needs, and analysing, diagnosing, and solving issues of efficiency, performance, and scale, collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues from different teams. Right now, we are looking to strengthen further the management of our Container Platform and Kafka Messaging Platform and looking for a DevOps engineer with strong knowledge and experience in Kubernetes administration and managing Kafka infrastructure.
- Managing Infrastructure as Code for parts of our Core Platform Layer (Kubernetes Clusters, Message Broker backends, Infrastructure tooling).
- Providing a distributed runtime platform that ensures optimal performance of our business web applications, APIs and backend services.
- Building our Infrastructure Platforms as self-service to our developers.
- Providing guidance and tooling for developers to self-manage their applications cross environments.
- Continuously improve and develop our platforms based on business needs.
- Analyse, diagnose and solve issues of efficiency performance and scale collaborating cross functional with colleagues from different teams.
- Strengthen the management of our Container Platform and Kafka Messaging Platform.
- Strong knowledge and experience in setting up and administering Kubernetes clusters, preferably with experience with AWS EKS and Rancher RKE. (required)
- Strong knowledge and experience of managing Kafka infrastructure in a geo-distributed setup, administration, and configuration of such service. (required)
- Managing Cloud Infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a good understanding of terraform modules and workflows. (required)
- Experience working with cloud providers, with AWS as preference, and strong knowledge with Cloud provider services such as EC2, ALBs, VPC, and EKS. (required)
- Experience in building scalable and distributed infrastructure. (required)
- Experience in using versioned source control to manage code changes. (required)
- Familiarity with the open-source monitoring stack of Prometheus/Grafana. (preferred)
- Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, Powershell or similar. (required)
- Experience in using and managing Linux distributions. (required)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner. (required)
- Knowledge of best practices in IT operations, such as ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and DevOps principles. (preferred)
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. (required)
- Required to be on an On-call support schedule. (required)
