Senior Copywriter

Description

As our Senior Copywriter, you will play a critical role in producing compelling, high‑quality content that elevates our brand across all markets. You’ll own the creation of high‑level, large‑scale, original and memorable work across multiple platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Studio, Studio Leads, Designers, Traffic, Marketing teams, and wider business stakeholders to ensure creative outputs consistently meet business requirements and push us into new, exciting directions. Your creativity, leadership and ability to drive best‑in‑class copy standards will help us move faster, innovate smarter and stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with designers, team leads and cross‑functional teams to understand objectives.
  • Engage with in‑country copywriters for translations and localisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the Creative Studio and wider business.
  • Create diverse, high‑quality content for Conversion, Retention, Affiliate, Brand, New Markets, Product, Call Centre and CSI.
  • Lead high‑level creative development for major campaigns and branding initiatives.
  • Develop ATL and brand content for TV, radio, outdoor and other large‑scale channels.
  • Deliver work that is CI‑compliant and aligned with the Betway tone of voice.
  • Coach, guide and mentor junior and mid-level copywriters.
  • Uphold high standards of writing and ensure consistency across all outputs.
  • Share best practices and encourage innovative thinking across the team.
  • Ensure accuracy of language, spelling, punctuation and grammar across all content.
  • Proofread campaigns and maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Check links, naming conventions and compliance across all deliverables.
  • Analyse copy performance and adjust content strategies where needed.
  • Use data insights to refine guidelines and produce more effective copy.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes.
  • Adapt quickly to urgent business needs and reprioritise work where necessary.
  • Work closely with Traffic to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, techniques and best practices in copywriting.
  • Proactively create fresh, original work and develop ideas beyond the brief.
  • Attend brainstorms and collaborate with the Copy Lead on new concepts.
  • Build a deep understanding of our products and customers across different regions.
  • Use customer insights to strengthen content relevance and impact.
Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to simplify complex ideas
  • Highly collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for quality
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments
  • 3‑year Diploma or Degree in Copywriting, Journalism or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ copywriting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong presentation, argumentation and justification skills for senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written language skills
  • Consistently high standards of work
  • A strong interest in sport (essential)
  • Knowledge of sports betting markets, odds, betting types and market trends (desirable)
  • Experience in the online gaming or casino industry (desirable)
  • Understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (desirable)
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements across jurisdictions (desirable)
  • Experience developing retention strategies (desirable)
  • Experience directing Voice Over artists (desirable)
  • Experience selecting voice talent from voicebanks (desirable)
