Senior Multimedia Design Lead

Description

The Multimedia Design Team Lead is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, on-brand visual communication across digital and print platforms for Betway Africa. This role combines hands-on creative execution with people leadership, mentorship, and quality ownership. The Team Lead guides campaign delivery across African markets, sets creative standards, and supports the growth and performance of the design team while ensuring work is visually compelling, compliant, and aligned with brand guidelines. As a Multimedia Design Team Lead, you’ll play a critical role in raising creative standards, guiding designers, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across the business. You’ll balance creative craft with team leadership, enabling faster delivery, smarter execution, and a collaborative studio environment that produces outstanding work at scale. Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of digital and print design across platforms and channels
  • Produce hands-on design work for key campaigns and high-impact projects
  • Interpret creative briefs and guide execution from concept through rollout
  • Ensure all outputs are accurate, media-specific, compliant, and highly crafted
  • Adapt quickly to urgent business requirements and shifting priorities
  • Lead through-the-line conceptual thinking and creative ideation
  • Develop fresh, original ideas and proactive creative solutions
  • Apply strong understanding of platform, audience, and campaign context
  • Support campaign execution through clear visual hierarchy and design thinking
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior and mid-level designers
  • Allocate work, provide feedback, and support performance development
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
  • Work closely with Copywriters and cross-functional teams to deliver campaigns
  • Act as a role model through professionalism, collaboration, and ownership
  • Own creative quality standards across all design output
  • Ensure consistency, attention to detail, and brand compliance
  • Embed best practice in file setup, asset management, and version control
  • Adhere to and continuously improve studio processes and workflows
Requirements
  • 6+ years’ experience in graphic or multimedia design, with leadership responsibility
  • A relevant Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or Design Communication
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating digital and print design excellence
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, and MS Office
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop designers
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, and delivery skills across multiple projects
  • Excellent visual judgement, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship
  • Clear, confident communication and a collaborative leadership style
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • iGaming, sports betting, or other regulated-industry experience (Nice to have)
  • Knowledge of platform best practices and UI principles (Nice to have)
  • Experience with After Effects or motion design tools (Nice to have)
  • Understanding of compliance requirements in regulated markets (Nice to have)
