The Senior Software Engineer improves operations by conducting systems analysis, and subsequently recommends changes in policies and procedures. They determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions. They contribute to operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. The Senior Software Engineer is accountable for supporting and developing junior software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
