Middle Legal Counsel
You will be the primary legal counsel for day-to-day contracts, corporate housekeeping, and product/policy matters across Boosta's digital businesses, which include ed-tech, content platforms, affiliate marketing, subscriptions, and fintech/payments. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires close collaboration with business teams. You will be expected to communicate clearly, negotiate effectively, and translate complex situations into practical guidelines.
- Provide end-to-end contract support, including intake, triage, drafting, redlining, negotiation, approvals, e-signature, and repository/KPI maintenance.
- Maintain and improve contract templates, clause libraries, and playbooks, and drive standard positions.
- Draft and update policies such as Terms of Use, Privacy/Cookie policies, Community guidelines, and Moderation policies, coordinating their rollout with Product, Marketing, and Customer Service teams.
- Offer corporate support, including entity maintenance, drafting resolutions and minutes, managing officer changes, and coordinating with notaries and registrars.
- Coordinate intellectual property matters, such as assignments, licensing, basic trademark filings with agents, and takedown workflows.
- Track and report on legal KPIs and ensure JIRA is kept up-to-date.
- Deliver concise training sessions and FAQs for business teams, and escalate complex issues in a timely manner.
- 2+ years of experience in tech/digital business law, preferably with in-house or law firm experience.
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Software as a Service (SaaS) and License agreements, Affiliate/Advertising agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Experience with corporate housekeeping across various jurisdictions, including incorporations, board minutes, share/register updates, and Know Your Customer (KYC) packs.
- Proficiency in policy work related to Terms of Use, Privacy/Cookie policies, Community/User-Generated Content (UGC), moderation, and notice-and-takedown procedures.
- Knowledge of consumer and advertising compliance for online products, including subscriptions, auto-renewal, refunds, promotions, and claims.
- Solid understanding of privacy regulations such as GDPR/UK GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA/CPRA, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and DPA negotiations.
- Basic knowledge of intellectual property (IP) matters, including copyright, trademark, licensing, and UGC/DMCA workflows.
- Strong legal English skills (C1+ level) and ability to draft in plain language.
