Retention Manager (Push)
Traffic7 is looking for a Retention Manager who will develop and optimise retention strategies across multiple mobile products through effective CRM communications. Traffic7 is a project that creates and develops digital products and scales them through strong expertise in performance marketing.
The role involves planning and launching recurring and one-off push/email campaigns for several Android/iOS apps, personalising them by behaviour and stage, and optimising with A/B tests. It also includes designing lifecycle programmes, segmenting and automating flows, reporting on metrics, and setting up email foundations. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining data health by enforcing frequency caps and quiet hours.
- Plan & launch recurring and one-off push/email campaigns (US time zones, quiet hours) for several Android/iOS apps.
- Personalise by behavior and stage; use deep links and in-app messages when useful.
- Optimize with A/B tests and small control groups; tune subjects, preheaders, timing, and frequency; watch deliverability.
- Design lifecycle programs: onboarding, abandonment reminders, reactivation/win-back; for iOS subscriptions - trial ending nudges, first-payment/renewal support, billing retry/grace saves, churn win-back.
- Segment & automate: build clean segments; set up automated flows (welcome, N-day inactivity, pre/post-renewal, reactivation).
- Report & learn: weekly/monthly metrics, highlight drop-offs, propose next experiments.
- Set up & maintain email foundation: choose ESP, configure domain auth, warm up, templates, preference center, suppression lists.
- Keep data healthy: maintain event/tag schema with devs; enforce frequency caps, quiet hours, and cross-channel de-dupe.
- Mobile CRM / Push: OneSignal hands-on; basics of FCM/APNs; understands notification permissions, channels, and quiet hours on iOS/Android (required).
- Email basics: ESPs (SendGrid/SES/Mailgun), domain auth (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), list hygiene, handling bounces/complaints, inbox placement awareness (required).
- Campaign management: Segmentation by behavior/lifecycle, US time-zone scheduling, A/B tests with small control groups, frequency caps; balancing push vs. email (required).
- Data & analytics: Track opt-in, open, CTR, conversion to submit/re-apply, D1/D7/D30 return, churn/uninstall; for subscriptions - trial-to-paid, renewals, churn/reactivation (required).
- Strong Google Sheets (required).
- Subscriptions know-how: Use subscription events (trial ending, renewal, billing retry/grace) to trigger messages (e.g., via RevenueCat or server notifications) (required).
- Copywriting & briefing: Short, clear US-English for push/email; personalization; simple briefs for HTML email templates (required).
- Compliance: CAN-SPAM, user consent & easy unsubscribe; Apple/Google/OneSignal rules; safe wording; proper disclaimers (required).
- Tracking & deep links: UTMs; deep/universal links to the right screen; align with analytics (Firebase/Amplitude/Mixpanel) (required).
- SQL is a plus (nice-to-have).
- MMPs (AppsFlyer/Adjust) are a plus (nice-to-have).
