BoyleSports is searching for a new Head of Compliance to join its organisation.

The role involves assisting the Group Compliance and Risk Director in the creation and maintenance of policies designed to ensure compliance across all relevant markets. The Head of Compliance will lead a team of compliance experts, delivering expertise and guidance on the overall BoyleSports compliance approach across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities include supporting the enhancement of operational processes, acting as a regulatory subject matter expert, and advising business areas on meeting compliance obligations. The role also entails leading the assessment, interpretation, and implementation of regulatory change, monitoring compliance frameworks, and overseeing compliance monitoring and quality assurance activities across retail and digital operations.

Furthermore, the Head of Compliance will lead the understanding of regulatory expectations within teams, provide guidance and training, and scope and manage the onboarding of new countries from a regulatory compliance perspective. Engagement with regulators, managing reporting, and leading or supporting responses to regulatory enquiries, audits, and reviews are also crucial aspects of the role. The position supports the identification, assessment, escalation, and reporting of regulatory incidents and risks, and assists the Learning and Development team in overseeing a compliance training programme, ensuring effective delivery of social responsibility training aligned with country-specific requirements.

Regular updates on regulatory matters will be communicated to senior personnel. The role also involves regular monitoring of internal practices against regulatory requirements, undertaking social responsibility audits, managing the pipeline of business requirements, and ensuring gaming systems are set up and maintained in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements. Continuous development and maintenance of knowledge in all areas of regulation within the required jurisdictions are expected. The Head of Compliance will uphold BoyleSports values, work within professional boundaries, and maintain safety. Support for licence applications for new regulated markets and ensuring licence conditions and ongoing regulatory requirements are monitored, maintained, and complied with across all relevant markets are also key duties. Occasional travel to Ireland and other international offices may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Group Compliance and Risk Director in the creation and maintenance of policies designed to ensure compliance across all relevant markets.
  • Lead a team of compliance experts across the organisation, delivering expertise and guidance on the overall BOYLE Sports compliance approach across multiple markets.
  • Support the enhancement and maturity of operational processes, acting as a regulatory subject matter expert and advising business areas on how to meet compliance obligations effectively.
  • Lead the assessment, interpretation and implementation of regulatory change across relevant jurisdictions, ensuring new or amended requirements are translated into clear business actions, controls, policies and evidence of compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality compliance frameworks, ensuring all policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Oversee compliance monitoring, quality assurance and assurance activity across retail and digital operations, identifying control gaps, tracking remedial actions and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead the understanding of regulatory expectations within teams, providing guidance and training across BOYLE Sports.
  • Scope and manage the onboarding of new countries from a regulatory compliance perspective.
  • Engage with regulators in new and existing markets, managing quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting to regulatory bodies as required by each market.
  • Lead or support responses to regulatory enquiries, audits, compliance assessments, information requests and reviews, ensuring responses are accurate, timely and appropriately evidenced.
  • Support the identification, assessment, escalation and reporting of regulatory incidents, potential breaches and material compliance risks.
  • Support the Learning and Development team to oversee a compliance training programme.
  • Ensure training on all areas of social responsibility is delivered effectively across the organisation and that training content is aligned with country-specific requirements.
  • Communicate regular updates to senior personnel on regulatory matters.
  • Ensure regular monitoring of internal practices against regulatory requirements within the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Undertake social responsibility audits across all jurisdictions to ensure compliance in these areas.
  • Manage the pipeline of business requirements from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Ensure gaming systems are set up and maintained in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Continue to develop and maintain knowledge of all areas of regulation within the required jurisdictions.
  • Uphold BOYLE Sports values at all times, working within professional boundaries and maintaining safety.
  • Support licence applications for any new regulated markets.
  • Ensure licence conditions and ongoing regulatory requirements are monitored, maintained and complied with across all relevant markets.
  • Undertake occasional travel to Ireland and other international offices as required.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level and/or able to demonstrate equivalent experience (required).
  • Formal compliance qualification, preferably within the gambling sector (required).
  • Responsible gambling training (required).
  • Auditing qualification and/or equivalent experience (required).
  • Excellent written skills are essential, as the Head of Compliance will be required to prepare and submit reports and notifications to regulators, as well as internal progress reports to key business stakeholders (required).
  • Ability to prepare key policies and procedures associated with gambling regulatory requirements within the relevant jurisdictions (required).
  • Ability to lead the onboarding of new countries in relation to regulatory compliance requirements (required).
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and maintain appropriate compliance independence (required).
  • Compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions (required).
  • Experience of gambling industry compliance requirements, including: responsible gambling, marketing and advertising, gambling harm prevention, customer due diligence, customer enhanced due diligence (required).
  • Ability to make improvements and intervene when monitoring practices across jurisdictions (required).
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing a team (required).
  • Experience of license applications and the ability to keep up to date with changes in corporate structures (required).
