The role involves identifying and actioning concerning customer behaviour with the aim of ensuring a sustainable customer base while reducing friction and maximising customer experience. The specialist will support management with team development and procedural improvement, and ensure the department is operationally compliant in all account handling relating to the CCR process.

Key responsibilities include identifying and actioning customer compliance risk, acting according to documented processes with regards to account actioning, document requests and additional checks required. The role also involves conducting customer risk assessments, including checks on customers' source of wealth, taking action to ensure that the customer maintains a sustainable level of spend. The specialist will investigate customers detected on RG/AML models, taking actions as per established processes and escalating to relevant Governance teams when appropriate. They must also stay aware of any regulatory or market changes affecting their area and ensure casework is handled in compliance with regulatory standards and requirements. The role acts as a constant point of reference for any queries or escalations by any team in Player Sustainability and Malta Operations in general. The specialist will take up the role of a leader when the Team Manager is not present, namely around monitoring of daily tasks, scheduling, and decision making. They will support management with developing the knowledge and performance of team members, conduct regular quality checks and provide constructive feedback, and be responsible for arranging/conducting training for new starters and other team members requiring performance improvement. Continuous improvement of ways of working and operational efficiency is expected, along with ensuring any procedural changes or new tasks are onboarded and communicated. Building strong relationships with external stakeholders, especially senior analysts in other Player Sustainability teams and relevant CS teams, is also a key aspect. The specialist will embrace team objectives and work on personalised goals on a quarterly basis, and perform ad-hoc tasks as required by management. Adherence to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations is mandatory, as is promptly identifying and raising any non-compliance incidents to the line manager. Challenging processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group and completing all mandatory compliance training are also required. The specialist should reach out to the Compliance Teams if unsure of any compliance obligations or if requirements are unclear.
