Description

Genius Sports is seeking a Payroll Specialist to bridge the gap between the Finance and People teams to ensure that Colombia payroll is processed seamlessly. The role requires an individual with a drive for change and process optimisation, as well as a natural attention to detail. Reporting to the Head of Transactional Processing within the Finance Team, the successful candidate will work closely with the People Operations Team to provide comprehensive payroll services.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of payroll, ensuring 100% accuracy. This includes managing day-to-day payroll and benefits enrolment, maintaining data integrity within the payroll platform and Workday, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and SOX controls. The role also serves as the primary point of contact for external payroll providers and acts as the Finance team lead for projects related to payroll governance and technology implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of payroll within Colombia.
  • Review processed payroll for corrections.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Handle holiday, absence, PILON and sick pay calculations where required.
  • Oversee tax-related payroll returns.
  • Participate in system improvements.
  • Work closely with the tax team to run and manage year-end procedures.
  • Maintain internal controls and audit compliance.
  • Manage pension, health care, CTW and other payroll related enrolments.
  • Ensure new employees and changes in the HRIS system (Workday) integrate and are reflected accurately in the payroll system.
  • Provide advice and support regarding pay review and benchmarking.
  • Provide general guidance to employees regarding pensions, benefits in kind and end of year tax returns.
  • Support global mobility activities, ensuring smooth transition for employees between locations and payroll systems.
  • Ensure that equity vesting is reflected and managed accurately and compliantly within payroll.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of payroll processes and experience of optimising them (required).
  • Experience working with external payroll providers and Employer of Records (required).
  • Qualified Accountant with experience of operating within a global business environment (required).
  • Experience of working within internally and externally regulated frameworks such as ISO, Internal Audit requirements, or SOX controls (required).
  • CIPP qualification and membership (nice-to-have).
