Junior Finance Business Partner
We are looking for a commercially curious and numerically minded Junior Finance Business Partner to join the Finance team at Gentoo Media. In this role, you will support senior finance colleagues with financial reporting, analysis, and planning activities. You will begin to build an understanding of the commercial and operational drivers behind the numbers, and develop foundational skills in business partnering, budgeting, and performance management. This role offers a strong learning opportunity, with structured exposure to commercial finance in a growing iGaming organisation.
- Support Senior Finance Business Partners in business meetings and reviews to build understanding of commercial decision-making.
- Help prepare financial information and summaries for business stakeholders in a clear and accessible format.
- Assist in tracking key business initiatives and flagging progress or issues to senior colleagues.
- Begin to build relationships with operational teams, supporting the link between finance and the business.
- Support the preparation of monthly performance reports and variance analysis under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Assist in explaining the key drivers behind financial performance changes.
- Help maintain and update reporting templates and dashboards to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Contribute to improving data quality in financial reports.
- Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles for assigned business areas.
- Assist in populating and maintaining financial models used in planning activities.
- Help gather input data from operational teams and ensure it is accurately reflected in planning tools.
- Contribute to basic scenario and sensitivity analysis under senior guidance.
- Carry out ad hoc data analysis to support business queries and decisions.
- Work with financial and operational datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Assist in building basic financial models and business case summaries as directed.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- 1–2 years of experience in a finance or analytically oriented role.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a genuine interest in understanding what drives business performance.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; comfortable with data manipulation and basic financial modelling.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in English language.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with guidance.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive, curious approach to problem-solving.
- Exposure to financial planning tools or BI platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is desirable.
- Interest in or experience with digital or online businesses.
- Familiarity with budgeting or forecasting processes, even in an academic or internship context.
