Technical SEO Specialist
Act as the architect and mechanic for the company’s websites, ensuring optimal technical performance to support search engine visibility. In an iGaming company with large, multi-jurisdictional sites, this role ensures crawlability, indexation, and structural integrity, laying the foundation for all SEO efforts.
- Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits and proactively resolve critical issues.
- Monitor and optimize site speed and Core Web Vitals across multiple websites.
- Improve website architecture, internal linking, and URL structures for optimal crawl efficiency and UX.
- Manage robots.txt, XML sitemaps, and crawl budgets to prioritise important pages.
- Implement and validate structured data (Schema.org/JSON-LD) for rich SERP features in iGaming verticals.
- Manage international SEO setups, including hreflang and geo-targeting configurations.
- Lead technical SEO components of website migrations, platform changes, and redesigns.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure precise implementation of SEO requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Web Development, or related field.
- Technical SEO certifications (e.g., Blue Array, ClickMinded) are a plus.
- 3–6 years of SEO experience with at least 2 years focused on technical SEO.
- Experience working in large-scale affiliate or e-commerce environments.
- Prior experience in iGaming SEO is highly preferred.
- Expertise in tools like Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Lumar (DeepCrawl), and Google Search Console.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and the SEO implications of JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular).
- Experience with log file analysis, crawl maps, and rendering diagnostics.
- Proficient in structured data implementation and page speed optimisation.
- AI Proficiency & Automation: Proven expertise in advanced prompt engineering and using generative AI tools to enhance technical SEO practices, particularly in automating audits, optimizing for entity recognition, and streamlining data analysis for faster strategy execution.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Clear communicator – able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Advanced ability to create detailed tickets and communicate with developers for technical fixes.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid project management and prioritisation skills.
- Deep understanding of the scale and complexity of affiliate SEO in iGaming.
- Familiarity with multi-language/multi-geo setups and hreflang best practices.
- Knowledge of compliance implementation, including geo-fencing, cookie scripts, and age verification.
- Insight into how crawl budget and indexation affect commercial iGaming visibility.
