Accountant 3 - Senior Fixed Assets & Capital Projects Accountant

Description

IGT is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Fixed Assets and Capital Projects Accountant to support the accounting, reporting, and governance of fixed assets, internally developed software, and capital projects across multiple business entities. This role partners closely with Finance, IT, Product Development, Procurement, and operational teams to ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, project accounting, and financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing complex fixed asset portfolios, and the ability to drive process improvements within a dynamic, global environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets and internally developed software, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, impairments, and write-offs.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor capital project activity and collaborate with project managers, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and timely project deployment.
  • Review and analyze project costs, labor capitalization, contractor expenses, and software development expenditures to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset reconciliations, rollforwards, depreciation analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with financial reporting requirements, including management reporting, quarterly reviews, and audit support.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify asset deployment, abandonment, impairments, and capitalization opportunities.
  • Maintain and improve processes, controls, and documentation related to fixed assets, capital expenditures, and project accounting.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and accounting analyses.
  • Partner with global accounting teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (required)
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional certification. (preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with significant exposure to fixed assets, capital projects, software capitalization, or general ledger accounting. (required)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting guidance related to fixed assets and internally developed software. (required)
  • Experience supporting month-end close and preparing account reconciliations. (required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and fixed asset subledgers. (required)
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment. (required)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across Finance, IT, and operational teams. (required)
  • Fixed asset accounting within a large, multi-entity or global organisation. (preferred)
  • Software development capitalization and project accounting. (preferred)
  • Financial systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, BlackLine, SharePoint, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms. (preferred)
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and enhancing accounting controls. (preferred)
