Description

The Electrical Engineer II designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. This role supports resolving semi-complex design, development, or redesign issues.

Typically, this role is assigned to design or retrofit most aspects of a product or major subcomponents. The engineer participates in or conducts semi-routine technical analyses to design desired electronics functionality for some products or systems.

This role executes semi-routine electrical engineering or technical assignments that involve advanced basic analysis. It develops or participates in the development of electrical engineering or technical solutions that adhere to established product specifications and functionality. The engineer solves or participates in the solution of electrical engineering or technical problems using traditional engineering approaches.

May support the selection of engineering or technical design solutions for assigned products or aspects of assigned products. Participates in assigned tasks comprising engineering design projects or assigned aspects of engineering design projects, from conceptual design to design capture to layout to prototype developments to testing and debugging to final design and release. Projects include circuit board design, PCB layout, product modifications and fixes, and product enhancements. May also review vendor capability to support product development.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Advanced degree (preferred)
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in technical circuit and product design (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of electronics design (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of circuit design (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of PCB layout (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of embedded controls (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of programmable logic (required)
  • Advanced basic knowledge of emissions (required)
  • Advanced basic proficiency in several relevant engineering design tools and design flow (required)
