Associate Front-End Software Engineer
The Associate Front-End Software Engineer works on the frontlines of a game development team to create compelling game experiences for Light & Wonder products. The role involves implementing, debugging, modifying, and supporting in-game features, as well as development and operational tools.
This position requires the technical skills to operate independently alongside the communication and collaboration abilities necessary to be an integral team player. The engineer is expected to possess a solid work ethic and a desire to learn from teammates while building games that delight customers.
- Implement and maintain client-side code for desktop and mobile games in a thorough and timely manner.
- Work on client/server-based applications using a variety of technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Contribute to the development of new and innovative games and different features in a game.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience (required)
- 2-3 years of software development experience (required)
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds (required)
- Experience in Data structures (JavaScript or any programming language) (required)
- Basic understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS3 (required)
- Experience with development tools including IDEs, debuggers, bug tracking (required)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, CVS, SVN (required)
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages (required)
- Knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, AngularJS, jQuery, NodeJS etc. (preferred)
- Hands on experience on other programming languages such as Java, C++, Python etc (preferred)
- Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt (preferred)
- Distributed application (client/server) development experience (preferred)
- Game Development experience (preferred)
- Experience in UI development and animations (preferred)
