AI Engineer
Playtech Managed Services is looking for an AI Engineer with strong system-design thinking, exceptional collaboration skills, and a high sense of ownership.
The role involves building AI-powered applications using modern LLMs, RAG, and AI agents to deliver intelligent, high-impact enterprise capabilities. The engineer will develop scalable backend services using Python, server-side JavaScript, and .NET, ensuring clean, maintainable architecture. They will also create modern web applications using React and contribute across the full stack.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing APIs, microservices, and system integrations for robust distributed systems. The engineer will develop and optimise SQL, NoSQL, and vector database solutions to support AI workloads, and build data pipelines, ETL/ELT flows, and AI knowledge repositories for structured and unstructured data. Deployment and operation of solutions in cloud environments (Azure preferred) are also key, applying strong security, performance, and observability practices.

- Create modern web applications using React and contribute across the full stack.

- Develop and optimise SQL, NoSQL, and vector database solutions to support AI workloads.
- Build data pipelines, ETL/ELT flows, and AI knowledge repositories for structured and unstructured data.
- Deploy and operate solutions in cloud environments (Azure preferred), ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Apply strong security, performance, and observability practices across all systems.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems (required).
- Work confidently with backend frameworks using Python, FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, and .NET (required).
- Apply practical AI/ML knowledge including LLMs, Generative AI, RAG architectures, and AI agents (required).
- Demonstrate strong API expertise in REST, microservices, and modern integration patterns (required).
- Utilise databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Redis, and vector stores such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus (required).
- Apply prompt engineering, semantic search, and AI evaluation strategies to improve reliability (required).
- Understand data modelling, query optimisation, and pipeline development for JSON, CSV, and unstructured data (required).
- Work with modern cloud and DevOps tools including Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring systems (required).
- Communicate clearly through strong documentation and cross-team collaboration (required).
- Bridge AI and full-stack engineering to deliver robust, scalable enterprise solutions (required).
- Experience with agentic AI platforms and advanced workflow orchestration (nice-to-have).
- MLOps and AI governance experience in enterprise or regulated environments (nice-to-have).
- Architecture, system-design thinking, and technical leadership (nice-to-have).
