IT Systems Administrator (Cloud & Support Focus)
This role focuses on managing and supporting IT systems, with a particular emphasis on cloud infrastructure and user support. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining virtual machine environments, handling complex user issues, and ensuring the security and smooth operation of the company's IT resources. This position requires a proactive approach to system maintenance, security, and documentation, as well as the ability to provide on-call support for critical incidents.
- Manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) & Remote VMs: Provision, maintain, and troubleshoot remote virtual machine environments to ensure seamless access.
- Level 2/3 Technical Support: Act as the primary escalation point for complex user issues, specifically regarding system access, hardware failures, and software.
- Cloud Identity Management: Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), managing user lifecycles, groups, and permissions.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the deployment of patches, security updates, and software installations across the organizationʼs devices.
- Network Operations: Maintain office connectivity (wired/wireless) and VPN tunnels to ensure stable access to cloud resources.
- Security & Compliance: Monitor security logs and ensure endpoints comply with company policies (GDPR, ISO27001) using Microsoft Intune or similar.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation for internal processes and user-facing "how-to" guides.
- On-Call Support: Participate in an occasional on-call rotation to resolve critical "lock-out" incidents or emergency system outages.
- Hands-on Azure Experience: Proven experience managing Azure Remote VMs or Virtual Machines (required).
- Microsoft 365 Expertise: Strong proficiency in managing Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams administration (required).
- Environment Familiarity: Comfortable navigating and troubleshooting both Windows (primary) and Linux (secondary) environments (required).
- Scripting: Ability to use PowerShell to automate repetitive administrative tasks or bulk user changes (required).
- Technical Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills for hardware, software, and networking (required).
- Tools: Experience with Jira for ticketing and Confluence for documentation (required).
- Education/Certs: A degree in IT or relevant certifications (e.g., AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate) is highly regarded (preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years in a technical support or junior systems administration role (required).
- User-Centric Mindset: Patience and clarity when assisting users with technical difficulties (required).
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and manage a ticket queue without constant supervision (required).
- Detail-Oriented: Precision in managing permissions and security settings where errors can impact compliance (required).
