Manual QA Engineer Senior
SOFTSWISS is looking for a Manual QA Engineer to join the BackOffice team. The company needs an experienced and accomplished professional who shares its culture and values.
The role focuses on the SOFTSWISS Game Aggregator product. The ideal candidate will own QA end-to-end, measure product quality with meaningful metrics, and report QA status, risks, and plans to stakeholders. Responsibilities include reviewing feature requirements, leading releases, diagnosing defects, and validating data directly in databases.
Collaboration with product, infrastructure, and business teams is key. The role also involves giving product demos and researching new QA approaches, including AI-assisted QA, to improve efficiency. Continuous improvement of the team's QA process is expected.
- Own QA for your product team end-to-end: test strategy, checklists, test cases, etc.
- Measure product quality with meaningful QA metrics and indicators (not vanity numbers).
- Report QA status, risks, and plans to your team and product stakeholders.
- Review feature requirements early; surface gaps, ambiguities, and risks before development.
- Lead releases as the responsible QA; monitor deploy results in production.
- Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
- Validate data directly in the databases – you will work with databases on daily as part of this role.
- Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and business.
- Give product demos to the Product Owner.
- Research and adopt new QA approaches and tools, including AI-assisted QA (agents, skills) to speed up routine work.
- Continuously improve the team’s QA process.
- 4+ years in QA of server-side / backend applications (required)
- Strong test design & analysis – risk-based prioritization, solid test-design techniques, and exploratory testing (required)
- Systematic mindset and independence – proven experience improving QA processes and driving them, comfortable in a mixed Scrum / non-Scrum environment (required)
- Strong hands-on experience with microservice-based systems -this is the core of the role. You understand the trade-offs of microservice architecture (pros and cons) (required)
- API testing – confident with Postman and REST APIs (required)
- CI/CD – understands pipelines and can read them ( GitLab CI ) (required)
- Bug tracking – Jira, structured defect management and reporting (required)
- Strong troubleshooting – can localize a failure (frontend vs backend vs data vs infra) (required)
- Logs / observability – able to investigate via ELK / Grafana (required)
- English – Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher; good communication skills (required)
- Prior ClickHouse experience (nice-to-have)
- Web UI testing and familiarity with design systems (component libraries) (nice-to-have)
- Test automation tools – experience using test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar technologies (nice-to-have)
- AI for QA productivity – using agents / skills / LLM tooling to automate and speed up routine work (nice-to-have)
