Anti-Piracy Investigator
Working within the Rights & Revenue Protection Services (RRP), the Anti-Piracy Investigator will be responsible for contributing to various aspects relating to the protection and enforcement of Sportradar’s audio-visual products. The role demands a well-connected, dedicated and forward-thinking Anti-piracy professional with direct experience in tackling issues surrounding illegal sports piracy.
The position requires the investigator to conduct intelligence investigations using an all-source approach across a range of tasks. They will perform OSINT and CYBINT/DNINT research and analysis to record items of interest and deliver actionable recommendations. The role also involves developing and maintaining key aspects of RRP’s anti-piracy provision, including the identification and implementation of new technologies. Furthermore, the investigator will produce a variety of intelligence and enforcement products, including both short and extensive written reports, and assist in developing and producing formalised operating procedures to ensure the confidence of clients, partners and stakeholders in Sportradar assessment and products.
- Conduct intelligence investigations using an all-source approach across a range of tasks.
- Perform OSINT and CYBINT/DNINT research and analysis to record items of interest and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Develop and maintain key aspects of RRP’s anti-piracy provision including identification and implementation of new technologies.
- Produce a variety of intelligence and enforcement products including both short and extensive written reports.
- Assist in developing and producing formalised operating procedures to ensure the confidence of clients, partners and stakeholders in Sportradar assessment and products.
- Relevant operational experience in research, content protection, digital investigations, illegal streaming prevention, rights protection, law enforcement or cyber security (required).
- Degree backgrounds in Criminology, Digital Forensics, IP Enforcement, Compliance, Audit, or similar fields (preferred).
- Proficient and demonstrable expertise in OSINT, HUMINT or CYBINT/DNINT tools, techniques/methodologies and trade craft (required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and present findings to diverse audiences (required).
- Personal or professional relationships within the anti-piracy community, including with ISPs, app hosts, social media platforms, and closed communication networks (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of, or a strong interest in, the international betting, digital content protection, and anti-piracy landscape (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of intellectual property (IP) protection principles, relevant legislation, and their practical application (required).
- Familiarity with intelligence analysis tools (e.g., i2 Analyst’s Notebook) and investigative research methodologies (nice-to-have).
- Demonstratable knowledge of programming languages (Python, JavaScript) (nice-to-have).
- High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality and information security (required).
- Self-motivated, analytical, and naturally inquisitive, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and investigation (required).
- Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage changing priorities, work effectively under tight deadlines, and travel when required (required).
