LATAM Finance Controller
The LATAM Finance Controller role requires a highly senior professional capable of combining leadership behaviours with strong technical expertise. The position demands the ability to manage third parties, prioritise competing demands, and make well-balanced decisions considering risks and benefits. However, this is fundamentally a hands-on role. The successful candidate is not expected to operate solely through delegation, but rather to demonstrate technical depth, resilience, and autonomy in directly solving complex problems.
- Oversee local accounting, including coordination with the external accounting firm.
- Support audits and liaise with internal teams to ensure compliance.
- Manage US GAAP accounting through Oracle, ensuring proper translation of local books.
- Understand budget assumptions and explain variances between actuals and forecasts.
- Monitor tax compliance in coordination with the global Tax team.
- Review intercompany agreements and transfer pricing policies.
- Identify tax optimisation opportunities (credits recovery and structural efficiencies).
- Control Marketing budget and conduct periodic reviews with local teams.
- Manage vendors, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and maintaining clear communication regarding payment timelines and cycles, particularly with marketing agencies and affiliates.
- Manage treasury activities, including cash management, low-risk investments, and relationships with payment service providers (PSPs), optimising liquidity and seeking more efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory financial obligations and internal compliance requirements.
- Strong technical expertise in accounting, tax, and finance (required).
- Self-awareness regarding technical gaps, with a proactive and continuous learning mindset, particularly within a new and evolving regulatory environment (required).
- Analytical profile with a strong focus on root cause identification and problem-solving (required).
- High degree of autonomy, ownership, and accountability (required).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution (required).
- Willingness to develop a solid understanding of the betting and sports industries, enabling interpretation of financial data within its broader business context and the proposal of conceptually sound solutions (required).
