Commercial Director, Spain
As a Commercial Director, Spain, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth across the Spanish market, managing and expanding the existing sales team, key operator relationships, and identifying new revenue opportunities across affiliate, sponsorship, and media partnerships. This is a senior role, for a digital advertising sales expert, combining strategic account ownership, people management, with new business development. You have a strong knowledge of the Spanish iGaming and sports betting market, as well as sport media companies and will work closely with regional and global stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Product, Content, and Operations to ensure partnerships are effectively executed and optimised.
- Reporting to the BD and partnerships’ director based in Italy, you will be managing a small but effective and experienced sales team based in Spain.
- Owning and growing commercial relationships with key gaming operators in Spain, as well as media partners such as sport media, leagues, football sport clubs.
- Identifying, pitching, and closing new commercial opportunities, including affiliate, media, sponsorship, programmatic campaigns, and bespoke partnership deals.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure successful onboarding, activation, and ongoing optimisation and monetization of partnerships across the region.
- Monitoring market trends, regulation, and competitive dynamics in Spain to inform and adapt commercial strategy.
- Delivering revenue growth and commercial targets within the Spanish market and find opportunities beyond the status quo.
- Maintaining a strong and accurate commercial pipeline, reporting regularly on performance, forecasts and plans.
- Ensuring all commercial activity aligns with FairPlay’s brand, compliance, and strategic objectives.
- Driving continuous improvement in partners’ performance through data, insight, and optimisation.
- Contributing to regional strategy discussions and supporting broader Southern Europe & LATAM initiatives where relevant.
- Supporting the wider Commercial and Global Partnerships teams by sharing market insights and best practices.
- Supporting the country manager Spain, aligning on operational and sales plans.
- Supporting internal stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Content, Tech) to ensure partnership requirements are clearly communicated and delivered.
- Supporting Finance and Operations teams through accurate forecasting, reporting, and deal handovers.
- Proven experience in commercial, partnerships, or business development roles within iGaming, sports betting, digital media, or adjacent industries (required).
- At ease to deal with high level stakeholders such as marketing directors, country managers, DGOJ and other public entities – a portfolio of contacts is a nice to have (nice-to-have).
- Strong knowledge of media and digital advertising, display, reservation, programmatic (required).
- Demonstrated success in closing and managing complex commercial deals (required).
- Excellent organisation, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills (required).
- Data-driven mindset with strong commercial acumen and ability to think out of the box (required).
- Fluent Spanish and professional-level English required (required).
- Portuguese is a nice to have (nice-to-have).
