Junior Accountant
We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Malta. You’ll play a vital role in managing our financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting our reporting activities. If you have a strong understanding of accounting principles, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - this role is for you. This is a fully on-site role.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure total accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure cash balance and transaction accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filings.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within financial operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (required)
- Proven experience in a relevant accounting role (3+ years preferred). (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations. (required)
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills. (required)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy. (required)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. (required)
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team-player mindset. (required)
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) or progress towards one is considered a plus. (nice-to-have)
