System Engineer/DevOps - Senior

Description

SOFTSWISS is hiring a System Engineer / DevOps – Senior. We are looking for a hands-on and reliability-focused engineer to design, automate, and maintain scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing environments across our products and services. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and evolving infrastructure and delivery processes to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient system operations. Your work will enable development teams to deploy, monitor, and operate services smoothly while maintaining high standards of stability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain infrastructure automation for internal Kubernetes-based application platforms.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Helm charts for application teams.
  • Build and operate CI/CD components (GitLab CI templates, shared pipelines, pipeline scripts).
  • Provide documentation, and guardrails for developers.
  • Experience with shell scripting/Python.
  • Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus stack/Zabbix).
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with Python engineers (debugging runtime issues, packaging, dependency management).
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Engineering/SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering (required)
  • Good understanding of Linux-like operating systems (Administration and troubleshooting) (required)
  • Experience with configuration management systems (Ansible / Saltstack / Terraform / Pulumi) (required)
  • Strong Kubernetes experience (deployment patterns, networking, storage, autoscaling, troubleshooting) (required)
  • Experience with shell scripting/Python (required)
  • Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus stack/Zabbix) (required)
  • English level – B2+ (required)
  • Observability experience with Datadog, Prom/VM (plus OpenTelemetry is a big advantage) (nice-to-have)
  • Direct experience operating RAG systems and vector databases (pgvector, Milvus, Qdrant, Weaviate, Pinecone, etc.) (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with domain management (CloudFlare/Route53) (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with GPU workloads/model serving (KServe, Ray Serve, Triton) (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with Go language (nice-to-have)
  • Ability to leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to optimize workflows and support decision-making (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with log aggregating systems (ELK/EFK stack) (nice-to-have)
