Game Data Scientist Intern

Lightspeed Tech Center is a R&D department under Lightspeed Studios which develop PUBG Mobile and other high-quality games. Our Tech Center leads the research, exploration, and discovery of innovative technologies and provides technical services for all games during all phases of life cycle, including engine, audio, QA, AI, next generation game, technical cooperation, etc.
- Analyze game data to uncover player behavior patterns.
- Assist in developing models to predict player engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Conduct A/B tests to optimize in-game features and monetization strategies.
- Create dashboards and reports to track key game metrics.
- Utilize SQL and Python for large-scale data preprocessing and analysis.
- Collaborate with game designers and data engineers to enhance the game experience.
- Research and experiment with machine learning models for application in game data analysis.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics.
- Possess basic knowledge of SQL and Python, with the ability to perform data analysis.
- Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
- Knowledge of basic machine learning concepts is a plus.
- Possess logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Passionate about games and interested in data-driven game development.
- Trilingual ability in Chinese, English, and Japanese is desirable.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Practical experience in game analysis, recommendation systems, fraud detection models, or risk scorecards.
- Knowledge and experience with A/B testing.
Salary
Annual salary: Negotiable (with salary increases/bonuses)
*Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skills, etc., and will be determined according to our company regulations.
*For general employees, a fixed overtime allowance for 35 hours per month is included.
For management positions, a fixed overtime allowance for 10 hours per month is included.
Working Hours & Holidays
Working hours: 09:30 ~ 18:30 Break time: 60 minutes
Flextime available
Complete two-day weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and national holidays
Paid leave: In the first year of employment, granted on a pro-rata basis depending on the month of joining. Up to 22 days based on years of service.
New Year's holiday (12/30 - 1/3)
Sick leave (paid): 12 days/year (granted separately from paid leave)
