Payroll Analyst
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for monitoring payroll files received through SharePoint and email to ensure processing. This role involves ensuring all payroll inputs are complete and accurate before payroll cut-offs and that payroll imports are completed before the final payroll processing run. The analyst will also conduct data audits, update and correct employee data in Oracle, and investigate and resolve negative net pay cases. Additionally, the role includes investigating timecard and work pattern errors, correcting absence-related errors, and updating employee bank details. The analyst will attend payroll meetings, support payroll-related projects, and respond to employee payroll queries. Further responsibilities include performing enhanced pre-payroll validation checks, analyzing recurring payroll errors, and identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes.
- Monitor payroll files received through SharePoint and email to ensure processing.
- Ensure all payroll inputs are complete and accurate before payroll cut-offs.
- Ensure completion of payroll imports before the final payroll processing run.
- Audit missing or incorrect employee data including payment methods, national identifiers, and salary details.
- Update and correct missing or inaccurate employee data in Oracle.
- Investigate and resolve negative net pay cases and instances where employees are not paid for the processing week.
- Process non-starter purges in Oracle and communicate with the HRIS team where required.
- Investigate timecard errors for respective entity employees using Oracle and the Timecard tools.
- Validate and correct/Input respective elements after validation in Oracle based on SAM tool data.
- Compute and review time summaries to support reconciliation of timecard errors.
- Investigate work pattern errors for Retail and Stadia employees in Oracle.
- Correct work schedules and ensure employees are assigned to the correct work patterns based assignment.
- Ensure rosters/REXs are grouped correctly based on start and end dates of work patterns.
- Correct absence-related errors in Oracle for Retail and Stadia employees.
- Amend sickness hours in Oracle.
- Update employee bank details in Oracle and investigate bank-related errors to ensure accurate payments.
- Attend payroll meetings and support payroll-related projects.
- Respond to and investigate employee payroll queries within agreed timelines.
- Communicate with the payroll team to prioritize and resolve payroll reports and issues.
- Perform enhanced pre-payroll validation checks and reconciliations to identify risks and ensure payroll readiness ahead of final processing.
- Analyze recurring payroll errors across time, attendance, work patterns, and absence data, and work with relevant teams to reduce repeat issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reduce manual interventions, and help maintain standard operating procedures.
- Communicate payroll risks, dependencies, and critical issues to the Payroll Team Leader and partners to support decision-making.
- B.Com / B.Sc - Computer Science (required)
- 2+ years of experience in HR Analytics (required)
- Experience in any one of HRIS Tools (required)
