Engineer (VoIP)

The role involves configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Asterisk systems, supporting SIP trunks, endpoints, and call routing logic, and analyzing call issues such as one-way audio, no audio, call drops, and registration problems. You will also work with SIP/RTP, codecs, NAT, ICE, STUN/TURN, monitor system health and call quality, analyze CDR/CEL/SIP logs/RTP streams, and support integration between Asterisk and CRM systems. Collaboration with telecom providers and vendors, participation in incident response and root-cause analysis, and writing technical documentation are also key aspects of this role. Integration of new services and technologies with Asterisk is expected.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Asterisk systems
- Support SIP trunks, endpoints, and call routing logic
- Analyze call issues: one-way audio, no audio, call drops, registration problems
- Work with SIP/RTP, codecs, NAT, ICE, STUN/TURN
- Monitor system health and call quality (ASR, ACD, PDD, MOS)
- Analyze CDR / CEL / SIP logs / RTP streams
- Support and expand integration between Asterisk and CRM systems
- Collaborate with telecom providers and vendors
- Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis
- Write and maintain technical documentation
- Integration of new services and technologies with Asterisk
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience with VoIP systems
- Strong knowledge of PJSIP, RTP, SDP, WS/WSS
- Solid hands-on experience with Asterisk: Dialplan logic, PJSIP, WebRTC signaling, ARI applications, and AMI integrations
- Understanding of NAT, firewalls, UDP/TCP, QoS
- Experience with Linux (Debian/CentOS/RHEL)
- Ability to read and analyze Asterisk logs and SIP traces
- Basic scripting skills (Bash; Python is a plus)
- English at technical communication level
- Knowledge of Databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) for CDR analysis
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with monitoring systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Homer)
- Experience with Kamailio
