Senior AML Data Analyst

Description

At Trustly, we are moving toward a Risk Precision model, and this role is part of the engine behind it. We are not looking for a generalist analyst or a reporter; we need a high-level technical owner who bridges the gap between complex regulatory mandates and scalable, high-performance code. This is a multifunctional role including the capability of standing alone technically; taking a raw regulatory requirement and building the end-to-end SQL data pipeline and detection logic without needing an engineering hand-hold, and also being able to engage with the necessary stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Advanced SQL Engineering: You will spend the majority of your day in the code, designing and maintaining complex data models and pipelines within a GCP/BigQuery environment.
  • Regulatory Translation: You will act as a strategic partner to Compliance leadership, translating global supervisory expectations into automated, measurable metrics and reporting logic.
  • Model Validation & Monitoring: You will be responsible for the hands-on implementation and ongoing performance monitoring of AML detection models, both rules-based and ML.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: You are not just a doer; you are a Senior lead who can clarify responsibilities, push back on requirements when necessary, and provide critical redundancy for our lead architects.
  • Data Defensibility: You ensure that every piece of data used for audits or regulatory inquiries is 100% accurate, traceable, and defensible.
Requirements
  • SQL Expert (Non-Negotiable) : You use SQL on a daily basis and have a deep mastery of database schemas, optimisation, and modeling.
  • Experience with DBT is highly valued.
  • Technical Architect: You have the seniority to own a roadmap and the technical depth to execute it from scratch in a cloud-native environment.
  • Articulate Partner: You have a high degree of business sense and can explain complex technical data structures to non-technical stakeholders with ease.
  • Accountable Owner: You thrive when given full ownership and enjoy writing the playbook for how data should operate at scale.
  • Nice to have: You understand the unique stakes of financial crime data, including model governance and documentation standards.
Benefits
  • 20 to 25 days of holiday to support a healthy work-life balance
  • Monthly team outing allowance to enjoy social events with your colleagues
  • Office perks such as refreshments (coffee, sodas etc.), breakfast, fruit and snacks
  • Meal card to enjoy a daily lunch allowance to make your workdays even more convenient
  • Well being support our health allowance covers gym memberships, massages, and much more to help you feel your best
  • PLUS additional benefits designed to enhance your work-life experience!
