Head of Marketing – Spain
The Head of Marketing – Spain will lead the overall marketing strategy and execution across the Spanish market for the William Hill and 888 brands. This role is responsible for driving customer acquisition, brand growth and marketing performance across all digital channels, while owning and managing the overall Spanish marketing budget and external agency relationships.
As a key member of the Spanish Commercial leadership team, the Head of Marketing will work closely with central functions including Brand, Performance Marketing, Media Buying, CRM, BI, Product and Global Marketing Services to ensure all marketing activity is aligned with commercial objectives and market opportunities. The successful candidate will combine strong strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution, bringing deep expertise in digital marketing, acquisition performance, brand positioning and stakeholder management within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. The role holder will be responsible for continuously optimising marketing efficiency, identifying growth opportunities, improving customer acquisition performance and ensuring a best-in-class customer journey across all channels and touchpoints.
- Define and execute the marketing strategy for the Spanish market across all brands and product verticals.
- Drive continuous customer acquisition growth through performance marketing, digital campaigns, social activity and brand initiatives.
- Own and manage the Spanish marketing budget, ensuring strong ROI and efficient allocation of spend across all channels.
- Lead and coordinate the Spanish marketing team while providing guidance and direction to cross-functional and dotted-line teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external agencies, overseeing media plans, campaign execution and performance optimisation.
- Identify and negotiate new marketing partnerships and commercial opportunities to support acquisition growth and brand visibility.
- Execute local brand strategies and act as brand guardian to strengthen market positioning and awareness.
- Collaborate closely with Brand, CRM, Studio, Global Marketing Services, Casino, Sportsbook, Product, BI, VIP and Customer Support teams to drive continuous optimisation.
- Oversee the production, localisation, approval and execution of campaigns tailored for the Spanish market.
- Continuously review and test customer journeys across web, app and mobile platforms to identify opportunities for UX, speed, content and conversion improvements.
- Drive optimisation of digital creatives, banners and video assets through structured A/B testing and performance analysis.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify risks, opportunities and areas for commercial differentiation.
- Analyse business performance and marketing effectiveness, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Lead market reporting processes and present commercial and marketing insights to senior stakeholders.
- Support PR activities, public affairs initiatives and external industry relationships where relevant.
- Monitor acquisition, traffic, conversion and marketing performance KPIs across all brands and channels.
- Coordinate campaign calendars, promotional priorities and customer communications with CRM and Commercial teams.
- Review campaign execution, creative performance and localisation priorities with Brand and Creative teams.
- Review media delivery, spend allocation and performance with external media and creative agencies.
- Coordinate with Product, UX and Global Marketing Services teams to optimise customer journeys and platform conversion.
- Conduct regular market and competitor reviews to assess positioning, media activity and emerging acquisition opportunities.
- Track and report monthly budget to ensure marketing spend aligns with commercial objectives and ROI expectations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Digital Marketing, Brand Marketing or Acquisition Marketing, ideally within iGaming or highly competitive digital industries (required)
- Proven leadership experience managing marketing teams and cross-functional stakeholders (required)
- Strong understanding of online acquisition channels, performance marketing and customer lifecycle strategies (required)
- Experience managing marketing budgets and external agencies (required)
- Strong analytical skills with experience using tracking and reporting tools such as Google Analytics and performance dashboards (required)
- Excellent project management and coordination capabilities (required)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (required)
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation and manage multiple priorities simultaneously (required)
- Highly organised, proactive and commercially driven mindset (required)
- Native-level Spanish and fluent English (written and spoken) (required)
- Experience within regulated iGaming or Sports Betting markets (preferred)
- Previous agency experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of media planning and buying strategies (preferred)
- Familiarity with CRM, attribution and customer segmentation tools (preferred)
