Associate General Counsel - Gaming (Americas)
Aristocrat is seeking an Associate General Counsel for its Gaming division in the Americas. This role will provide legal support for commercial transactions and activities across North America and LATAM.
The successful candidate will act as a legal advisor to the business, managing commercial contracts and providing guidance on regulatory compliance. The position requires a strategic partner who can collaborate across various internal functions to support the company's goals and manage legal risks effectively.
- Act as a legal advisor for the Aristocrat Gaming business as guided by the General Counsel – Gaming.
- Support commercial gaming issues throughout North America and LATAM.
- Manage and mentor applicable support staff of lawyers and paralegals working with commercial matters of the Aristocrat Gaming business division.
- Negotiate, draft, process and otherwise manage Aristocrat Gaming equipment and technology transactional contracts and administrative requirements.
- Provide assistance for diverse general commercial issues, including transportation management, distribution networks, real property, technology provider relationships, and other commercial concerns as needed.
- Provide accurate and timely legal services to business partners, including analysing, researching, reviewing, interpretation, dispute resolution, drafting, and leading negotiations.
- Lead or assist with the assessment of proposed transactions and the development of deal structures to minimise legal and business risks.
- Interpret and advise applicable business units concerning relevant laws and regulations, including national and regional gaming regulatory compliance matters.
- Promote seamless teamwork and become an essential strategic partner to the Gaming business.
- Collaborate with key Group functions like IT, real estate, and procurement to support their strategic goals.
- Build and deliver cross-channel educational presentations and tools about relevant legal issues.
- Work on special projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Support and role model Aristocrat’s and the Legal Team’s 2030 strategy.
- Deliver timely and solution-focused legal services while managing cash flow and achieving budget targets.
- Operate as a sustainability champion by providing advice and counsel to business clients and ensuring that all initiatives meet legal requirements.
- Manage external counsel resources.

- A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a member in good standing with a State Bar (required).
- 10+ years minimum experience as a commercial attorney either with a law firm, corporation, or both (required).
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, real estate, technology agreements, and general commercial contracts (preferred).
- Experience with both USA, LATAM and other international regions (preferred).
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other groups and to influence and establish effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation (required).
- Ability to manage competing priorities, simultaneously drive numerous projects, identify, and resolve business issues, and earn the confidence of executive business partners (required).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, drafting and negotiation skills (required).
- Outstanding business judgment and analytical skills (required).
- Experience handling all aspects of commercial contracts (required).
- Comfort and familiarity with existing and emerging technology (required).
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting that emphasises data-driven outcomes and adapt quickly to changing priorities (required).
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognise standards required by a regulated business (required).
- Up to 25% travel expectations.
- Pay range of $168,000 - $312,000 per year.
