At Aristocrat, the Director - Head of Finance and Company Secretary will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity and strategic growth. This individual will be responsible for leading the Finance function in India, collaborating with leadership, external consultants, and global partners to deliver flawless financial management and compliance.

This role involves leading a high-performance team and developing the India Finance Shared Services capability. The position requires driving organizational effectiveness, talent development, service excellence, process harmonization, and the transition of appropriate finance activities into a shared services model. It also entails leading financial planning and analysis, ensuring accurate forecasting, and performing variance analysis to provide key insights to business plans. Strong financial governance, including segregation of duties and financial authority limits, is essential. Collaboration with outsourced business partners for results review, automation, and resource planning is also a key aspect. The role ensures timely vendor payments, intercompany reconciliations, and controls. Finalizing books of accounts per group and statutory requirements, coordinating statutory and tax audits, and ensuring compliance with GST, Customs, and other indirect tax regulations are critical. Payroll processes, working capital management, and banking relationships are also managed. The Director will conduct board and general meetings, handle regulatory submissions, and maintain statutory registers. Legal matters, including commercial contract review and compliance with modern slavery and privacy laws, will be handled. Promoting team advancement and coordinating the transformation of financial reporting processes to enable a scalable, data-driven finance function are also key responsibilities. Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve efficiency and controls through automation, and encouraging team capability in emerging productivity technologies, are also part of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performance team, driving innovative projects, continuous improvement, and a culture of excellence.
  • Lead and further develop the India Finance Shared Services capability, partnering with global finance leaders to support the continued scaling, standardization, and optimization of finance processes and service delivery.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, service excellence, process harmonization, and the transition of appropriate finance activities into the shared services model.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis, ensuring accurate forecasting of operating and capital expenditures across all business functions.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide key insights to business plans in collaboration with local and global collaborators.
  • Continuously improve forecasting processes to increase commercial efficiencies.
  • Ensure strong financial governance, including segregation of duties, financial authority limits, and policies.
  • Collaborate closely with outsourced business partners to review results, records, automation, and resource planning.
  • Ensure timely vendor payments and related compliances, intercompany reconciliations, and controls.
  • Finalize books of accounts per group and statutory requirements, and ensure accurate assets verification and register updates.
  • Coordinate statutory and tax audits, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the Group and authorities.
  • Collaborate with the global tax team for review and update of India tax reports, ensuring timely completion of tax assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, Customs, and other indirect tax regulations.
  • Coordinate payroll processes, ensuring timely deposit of employee statutory dues and taxes.
  • Ensure adequate working capital and lead banking relationships for statutory payments.
  • Conduct board and general meetings, ensure submission of regulatory returns, and maintain statutory registers.
  • Handle legal matters, including review of commercial contracts and compliance with modern slavery and privacy laws.
  • Promote team advancement, participation, and resource organization to secure an effective finance team.
  • Coordinate the transformation of financial reporting processes to enable a scalable, data-driven finance function.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and controls through automation (e.g., workflow optimization, reporting enablement, and practical use of AI-assisted tools), and encourage team capability and curiosity in emerging productivity technologies.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience establishing, scaling, or leading finance teams or offshore finance operations within a complex multinational environment (required)
  • High business partnership skills (required)
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of relevant job experience (required)
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with the capacity to handle several projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines (required)
  • Solid grasp of accounting concepts, outstanding communication abilities, and the capability to impact individuals across all levels (required)
  • Shown people leader, with a track record of developing high-performing teams (required)
  • Advanced MS-Excel skills and proficiency in MS-Word, PowerPoint, Concur, and Tally ERP (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
  • Outstanding ability to adapt, prioritise, and multi-task with strategic, analytical, and planning skills (required)
