Full-Stack Engineer
Aristocrat is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join an agile, well-resourced environment blending startup energy with established company strengths. This role plays a key part in crafting the future of social casino games, providing an outstanding opportunity to innovate and influence player experiences worldwide.
The engineer will participate in end-to-end feature development, growing social and gameplay systems. They will own features from concept through release and monitoring, implementing frontend functionality in JavaScript across iOS, Android, and Web. The role also involves composing and building backend services and APIs in PHP to power new gameplay, social, and LiveOps features, developing scalable RESTful APIs consumed by client applications, and contributing to data modeling and persistence for player progression, rewards, and events. The engineer will also improve backend efficiency to handle high concurrency and sizable player populations, ensure features are reliable, testable, and production-ready, and assess and optimise frontend and backend performance to provide a fluid player experience. They will partner with Product to scope technical solutions and make pragmatic tradeoffs, monitor post-launch performance and iterate based on player behaviour and metrics, and translate creative concepts into engaging, scalable systems. The role also includes helping to foster an inclusive engineering atmosphere dedicated to education and constant progress, and proactively finding opportunities to improve architecture, tooling, and delivery practices.
- Participate in end-to-end feature development, growing social and gameplay systems.

- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience (required).
- 4+ years of professional software development experience (required).
- Experience with JavaScript in production environments (required).
- Experience building backend services in a live environment (required).
- Experience crafting and consuming RESTful APIs (required).
- Understanding of client-server architecture (required).
- Experience contributing to features through the full development lifecycle (required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a player-first approach (required).
- Experience developing backend services in PHP (preferred).
- Experience working within an existing PHP codebase (nice-to-have).
- Experience building gameplay systems such as events, rewards, progression, or social mechanics (nice-to-have).
- Experience in mobile gaming, social casino, or Games-as-a-Service environments (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with experimentation, feature flags, or live feature delivery (nice-to-have).
- Mobile development experience (iOS and/or Android) (nice-to-have).
