The Sr Lead Tech Artist will develop and update artwork and animation for digital gaming projects, focusing on the content implementation pipeline. This role ensures that relevant processes regarding asset management, file organisation, and output configuration are clearly and correctly executed.

The successful candidate will schedule and manage time efficiently, working with agile development leaders to plan work and deliver assets on time to specification with thorough attention to detail. Responsibilities include conducting peer reviews to check work for accuracy and quality, creating game documentation as per business needs, and collaborating with multi-disciplined teams to achieve the highest quality games possible.

Further duties involve following guidelines set by management to manage and develop art assets, bringing in ideas and innovations to improve the overall testing process in terms of tools and processes, and working collaboratively with global teams and studio leads for status updates and guidance. Participation in after-business-hours calls may be required as per business needs.

As a Technical Artist, the role involves creating visually appealing assets that meet project briefs while exploring innovative concepts and providing multiple design variations. The candidate will develop and implement artwork that adheres to the technical constraints of game engines and platforms, ensuring optimal performance. Upholding high standards of quality and accuracy in all technical art processes is crucial, ensuring consistency across projects.

Continuous development of technical skills related to the discipline and software such as Photoshop and Illustrator is expected. Collaboration with team members and stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and provide regular updates on project progress is essential. Managing and documenting files, assets, and workflows to streamline accessibility and usability for the team is also a key responsibility.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree/BFA/MFA or equivalent work (required).
  • 5-8 yrs. work experience in digital gaming as technical artist (required).
  • Must have strong experience in Adobe products (After Effects and Photoshop) (required).
  • Strong knowledge of 2D Graphics (required).
  • Understanding of After Effects and animation principles (preferred).
  • Good knowledge of any scripting language to automate Artist tools as After Effects plug-in (required).
  • Experience in using Assets control systems (Perforce) (preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies (preferred).
  • Prior experience in the digital or social gaming industry (preferred).
  • A good eye for attention to detail and be willing to follow technical/compliance specifications (required).
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders (required).
  • Suggests ideas to improve the overall testing process in terms of tools, processes, test cases etc. (required).
