Senior Software Developer (Automation & Integration)
Bally's Interactive is looking for a Senior Software Developer to be the technical and design authority behind its process automation portfolio. Sitting at the intersection of Engineering, DevOps, and the business, the role will turn complex, manual processes into smarter, scalable automations that help the fast-paced sports betting and iGaming operation move faster.
The successful candidate will map how teams work, uncover opportunities to automate, and design and build solutions that make teams more efficient and reduce repetitive, error-prone work. They will also be the go-to expert for how automations are built, run, and supported.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a product mindset, curious about how the business works, quick to learn new systems, and motivated by solving real problems through technology.
- Own the technical direction of the process automation portfolio, including architecture, standards, patterns, and technology choices.
- Partner with business teams to identify automation opportunities, map processes, and translate them into technical designs and delivery plans.
- Design and build AWS automation services and workflows using Node.js and/or Python, including event-driven pipelines, scheduled jobs, multi-step workflows, and system integrations.
- Create solution designs covering architecture, data flows, failure and retry strategies, and rollback plans.
- Partner with DevOps on deployment, infrastructure as code, environments, secrets, cost control, and production readiness.
- Champion engineering standards across code quality, testing, observability, error handling, and documentation.
- Build monitoring and alerting from day one and lead incident response and root cause analysis.
- Lead and mentor engineers, reviewing designs, removing blockers, and raising the technical bar.
- Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, audit, and compliance requirements, including PII handling and access control.
- Maintain runbooks and handover documentation.
- Salary: $120,000-$150,000 CAD
