As a Head of Tax, you will shape the future of our tax operations in Brazil, navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape with precision and strategic insight. The Tax department oversees all advisory and compliance operations for the business. This team balances technical precision with strategic foresight to navigate regulatory shifts, ensuring the business remains compliant and sustainable.
This role leads tax planning, guides system implementation, and develops a local team within a sector undergoing significant change. It requires a leader who turns complex legislation into clear strategy, staying hands-on while driving long-term results.
- Ensuring full tax compliance across all taxes relevant to the betting industry in Brazil.
- Driving tax planning strategies with a focus on regulatory alignment and long-term efficiency.
- Leading the company response to Brazilian tax reform.
- Liaising with tax authorities and regulators to support audits.
- Collaborating with Legal, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and Product teams to ensure end-to-end tax and regulatory alignment.
- Monitoring and interpret legislation and regulatory changes to develop emerging policies for the industry.
- Building and developing a local tax team to promote technical and strategic capability.
- Supporting the global tax function regarding relevant international tax issues.
- Managing relationships with professional firms for outsourced compliance and advisory support.
- Implementing and improving tax systems and automation tools integrated with ERP and financial systems.
- Extensive commercial experience leading tax strategy and compliance in Brazil with expertise in current Brazilian tax legislation (required).
- Proven ability to work in matrix structures and multicultural contexts (required).
- Analytical mindset with a focus on critical thinking and execution (required).
- Strategic vision balanced with a hands-on approach to operational challenges (required).
- Experience in Technology, Fintech, Betting, Gaming, or other regulated industries (required).
- Expertise in implementing tax systems, specialist tax software, automation, and ERP tools (required).
- Fluency in English with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (required).
