Senior Software Developer, FollowScores
As a Senior Software Developer, you will implement and maintain systems to support the features being delivered in our FollowScores app, while ensuring high quality standards for our software products. FollowScores is a football scores app and our goal is to continue growing its userbase over the coming years, introducing new and innovative features as part of its development roadmap. The FollowScores backend team is responsible for the systems involved in delivering data to our iOS and Android apps, using web sockets and REST APIs. Core skills within the team are Golang, Redis and GCP. Your skills as a Senior Software Developer will set the standard to a talented group of developers to innovate and excel in delivering reliable solutions, while fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
- Leading and delivering the development of scalable, maintainable, and performant systems.
- Applying active governance around overall solution design, while setting the standard for code quality and delivery within the team.
- Ensuring solutions meet the needs of the Business.
- Taking responsibility for work estimation, producing solution documents, and ultimately ensuring accurate portrayals of effort can be obtained and subsequently delivered.
- Understanding the technical structure, domain, and architecture of the systems the team is responsible for.
- Leading a small team of developers in the design and development of a solution from start to finish.
- Owning technical solutions and their hands on delivery from development to live at low level.
- Distributing knowledge and mentoring team members.
- Knowledge of Golang, Redis and GCP, though expertise in similar or alternative technologies are welcome. (required)
- Experience in leading development teams and delivering technical projects to successful completion. (required)
- Ability to mentor and coach staff. (required)
- Good technical documentation skills. (required)
- Proven record of accomplishment in high availability multi browser compatible development. (required)
