QA Engineer
Betfred is seeking a collaborative QA Engineer to support quality practices within a delivery team. This role reports directly to the team’s Engineering Manager.
The QA Engineer will work closely with Software Developers, Product, and Tech Leads to ensure tests are applied at the right level of the testing pyramid, focusing on effective coverage, risk mitigation, and exploratory testing to uncover issues that automated or scripted tests may miss.
The role supports shift-left testing by considering testability early in designs and features and helping the team validate functionality before it reaches production. The QA Engineer will contribute to observability-led quality, using monitoring, metrics, and logging to understand system reliability, performance, and user experience in production.
By leveraging these insights, the QA Engineer will help the team identify risks early, report issues effectively, and support continuous improvement of delivery outcomes. The role involves exercising sound judgment in balancing risk, speed, and coverage, collaborating with QA colleagues and engineers, and following established processes and practices to maintain quality, consistency, and effectiveness within the team. This work will help ensure confident releases and support a culture of quality-first engineering.
