Engineering Tech Lead - Player Management
Betsson Group is looking for an experienced Senior .NET Engineer or Technical Lead to join the Player Account Management (PAM) team. This role focuses on driving technical excellence, facilitating design decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
As a hands-on technical expert, the successful candidate will support management in building world-class engineering teams. The position involves researching new technologies, leading technical investigations, and developing proofs of concept to improve system stability, performance, and development efficiency.
- Identify and champion technical improvements for consideration in the roadmap, ensuring the benefits are clear, measurable and understood. This includes introducing standards and best practices in the area.
- Work closely with architects to ensure that the architectural direction and standards are being communicated, aligned & implemented within the teams.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our business and products.
- Take the lead on technical design decisions, whilst ensuring alignment with the area architect(s).
- Take an active, hands-on role with important technical initiatives and issues.
- Support new product development by producing POCs and/or documented technical designs.
- Research new technologies and assessing their potential application.
- Review major changes to ensure they are up to standard.
- Serve as a key technical point of contact for the area, collaborating with product, architecture and engineering colleagues across the organisation.
- Help build our world class teams, thus participating in technical interviews and providing technical feedback on people, as well as coaching & mentoring engineers.
- When necessary, participate in team ceremonies such as planning, refinement, etc... to keep up to date on ongoing works and upcoming plans.
- Lead technical trainings to share knowledge and improve technical expertise within the teams.
- Strong technical background and an understanding of non-functional requirements (required).
- Expertise with designing and implementing distributed microservices (preferably using Docker and Kubernetes) (required).
- Expertise with highly cacheable RESTful APIs (required).
- Deep understanding of real-time messaging patterns (preferably Kafka and RabbitMQ) (required).
- Highly experienced and comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Couchbase) (required).
- Demonstrated working experience with observability practices for highly available systems (such as Grafana and OpenTelemetry) (required).
- Experienced and passionate about coaching and mentoring people, preferably having done so in a similar role (required).
- Able to work out of own initiative and under pressure (required).
- Technical proficiency with .NET technology stack (nice-to-have).
- Working experience with AWS (nice-to-have).
