Head of Product Design
Betsson Group is seeking a Head of Product Design to join the senior leadership team in the product organisation, responsible for the Gaming Design function. The role focuses on product design direction and ownership of gaming-specific visual content governance for the Gaming vertical, including Games of Chance, Poker, and Gamification.
The Head of Product Design will enable and support Gaming product teams in creating products and experiences that delight customers, with the authority to set design standards and solutions. They will be a key contributor on Gaming product initiatives and inspire the organisation in building great products. Ownership for the governance of gaming-specific visual content quality is also a key aspect, including where execution is carried out by other teams. Although this is a management role, a hands-on approach is expected.
Key responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and inspiring the team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and innovation. The Head of Product Design will lead the design team for a product domain, taking accountability for their performance and work quality. Developing a deep understanding of customers, internal users, and products, and ensuring the team structure is well-defined and optimised are also crucial. Organising and overseeing the team's work in alignment with the product roadmap and goals, and providing recommendations to foster, grow, and retain UX talent across the organisation are expected. Collaboration with Research, Insights, and Data for evidence-based design decisions, and owning the implementation of the area’s UX/UI, maintaining excellence and consistency, are also key. The role involves owning and governing product-specific imagery and content quality, defining review and approval processes, and collaborating closely with the Branding team to ensure content aligns with product strategy. Responsibility for the information architecture of products and owning design for Backoffice tools are also part of the role. Close collaboration with Product Management to enable and influence product development roadmaps, and taking an active role on complex and strategic initiatives with expert guidance are required. Defining and championing user-centric design strategies and best practices across the Gaming organisation, driving new thinking, and staying informed on user experience and gaming trends are essential. Developing a strong understanding of user journeys and customer experience, mapping, researching, and analysing user journeys to oversee user experience and drive improvements, and continuously reviewing the live product for areas of improvement are also expected. Building effective working relationships across the organisation, serving as a point of contact and subject matter expert for product design, and collaborating across product development areas to ensure consistency in UX/UI, experience elements, and visual assets are vital. Frequent collaboration with design leads in other product domains to share best practices and ensure consistency, and close collaboration with the Central design team on design system matters are also required. Staying open and fluent in modern technologies like Generative AI, Machine Learning, and workflow automation to improve product design, content production, and backoffice capability is important. Assisting and supporting senior product leaders and contributing to product direction through active involvement in evolving and executing the product strategy and vision are also key aspects of the role.
