Platform Core DevOps Engineer - Infra
Betsson Group is seeking an ambitious DevOps Engineer to join the Platform Core team. This role focuses on modernising web and globally distributed applications by managing Infrastructure as Code for the core platform layer, including Kubernetes clusters and message broker backends.
The successful candidate will provide a distributed runtime platform that ensures optimal performance for business web applications, APIs, and backend services. The role involves building self-service infrastructure platforms for developers and providing the necessary guidance and tooling to manage applications across various environments.
Betsson Group is currently looking to strengthen the management of its container and Kafka messaging platforms. The engineer will be responsible for continuously improving these platforms based on business needs and collaborating cross-functionally to diagnose and resolve issues related to efficiency, performance, and scale.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code for the core platform layer including Kubernetes clusters, message broker backends, and infrastructure tooling.
- Provide a distributed runtime platform to ensure optimal performance of business web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Build self-service infrastructure platforms for developers.
- Provide guidance and tooling for developers to self-manage applications across environments.
- Continuously improve and develop platforms based on business needs.
- Analyse, diagnose, and solve issues of efficiency, performance, and scale.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues from different teams.
- Participate in an on-call support schedule.
- Strong knowledge and experience in setting up and administering Kubernetes clusters (required).
- Experience with AWS EKS and Rancher RKE (preferred).
- Strong knowledge and experience of managing Kafka infrastructure in a geo-distributed setup, including administration and configuration (required).
- Managing cloud infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a good understanding of modules and workflows (required).
- Experience working with cloud providers, with AWS as preference (required).
- Strong knowledge of cloud provider services such as EC2, ALBs, VPC, and EKS (required).
- Experience in building scalable and distributed infrastructure (required).
- Experience in using versioned source control to manage code changes (required).
- Familiarity with the open-source monitoring stack of Prometheus/Grafana (required).
- Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, Powershell or similar (required).
- Experience in using and managing Linux distributions (required).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner (required).
- Knowledge of best practices in IT operations, such as ITIL and DevOps principles (required).
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment (required).
- Availability for an on-call support schedule (required).
