Sportsbook - Backend Software Engineer
The Sportsbook Area with Product Development is now hiring. The company has a world-class Sportsbook, developed in-house by a dedicated Sportsbook tech team and growing at a very rapid rate, expanding not only in new markets but also as a B2B product. Having the product available in different parts of the world and offering sports all around the world requires support around the clock. The Product Development organisation is truly Global with cross functional teams spanning 5 Tech Hubs. These can be found in Malta, Budapest, Stockholm, Tallinn and Athens.
Our Sportsbook Platform is in-house, from its Architecture to its Trading teams. It hosts the company's brands offering Sportsbetting for customers. From the tools traders use to the cutting edge features customers use to bet on various sports, the teams are the backbone to making this happen. The aim is to create the best performance, functionality and user experience in the iGaming industry. As part of the Sportsbook tech team – a high performance, throughout and availability product serving many brands (20+), the role will be key in ensuring that the team delivers the required business value.
The role involves being involved in all aspects of software development, from design to writing code and unit tests and managing SQL and NoSQL data models. This is an opportunity to work on a world-leading, high performance, high availability and high throughput multi-brand betting platform. The data behind the applications includes 10,000 different leagues, 1100 matches and 500-600,000 bets on a single Saturday. The role joins more than 150 agile people distributed across 3 locations, working with a wide variety of technologies from Angular and Typescript to .NET Core, C# and RabbitMQ to AWS. The company works in cross functional teams consisting of architects, developers, QAs, database experts and devops staff. This is a role for someone passionate about the latest technologies and capable of handling mission-critical responsibilities.
The role will be part of an end-to-end agile team with a strong feature focus, consisting of developers, QA engineers and UX specialists. Team members are expected to be involved in all aspects of software development from making sure that the architecture and design is as good as possible, to writing code, unit and end-to-end tests and managing data models. The role involves both designing and implementing new features, as well as analysing the system and improving architecture and technical excellence.
