Commercial Operations Manager - Banking

Description

Betway Africa is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to oversee contract execution and project delivery within the banking and commercial sector. The role involves managing the end-to-end lifecycle of commercial agreements, ensuring legal and commercial accuracy, and coordinating cross-functional teams to facilitate product launches.

The successful candidate will act as a central point of contact for contract administration, maintaining auditable repositories and ensuring that all commercial terms are correctly implemented. This position requires a high level of organisation to manage complex workflows, track project timelines, and provide analytical insights into commercial operations.

Responsibilities
  • Own contract completion and execution, ensuring every schedule, annexure and signature is in place and accurately reflects what the commercial team negotiated.
  • Track contracts through each stage of completion, chasing counterparties and internal stakeholders to close out outstanding items and keep deals moving to signature.
  • Manage NDAs and legal document flow, initiating, routing and tracking client and partner NDAs, ensuring they are raised, reviewed and executed before commercial or technical engagement begins.
  • Maintain a clean, auditable repository of all NDAs, contracts and agreements so nothing is lost, expired or unaccounted for.
  • Review agreements for commercial accuracy before sign-off, reviewing executed and draft agreements against the agreed commercial position, flagging discrepancies in fees, terms, dates or scope for correction before they are finalised.
  • Act as a quality-control checkpoint, cross-checking documents for accuracy and completeness without setting the commercial pricing or leading negotiation.
  • Run the end-to-end delivery of new products, pricing changes and partner integrations from signed contract to go-live, managing timelines, dependencies and handoffs across teams.
  • Coordinate legal, finance, operations, compliance and technical stakeholders to remove blockers and ensure launches land on schedule.
  • Manage the commercial team's tasks, tools and pipelines, translating agreed deals into structured workstreams and clear owner-accountable actions.
  • Maintain visibility of all in-flight commercial workstreams through project and task-management tooling, providing status reporting and analytical insight on progress, bottlenecks and delivery risk.
Requirements
  • Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas (required)
  • A collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross-functional teams to hit shared goals (required)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball (required)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work (required)
  • Adaptability, staying sharp, productive and positive in fast-moving environments (required)
  • Highly analytical mindset, able to interrogate agreements, pricing schedules and delivery data, spot discrepancies and turn complex commercial detail into clear, actionable status (required)
  • Proven contract administration and project management experience, comfortable owning NDAs, agreement review, execution and go-live delivery using structured project and task-management tools (required)
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional product or pricing go-lives, keeping multiple workstreams and stakeholders on track to a deadline (preferred)
  • A commercial or legal-ops background - for example paralegal, contracts administration, commercial operations or vendor/partner management (preferred)
  • Strong data and reporting skills (advanced Excel, dashboards or BI tools) to track delivery progress and surface risks (preferred)
  • Exposure to the online gaming, betting or a similar regulated industry is a bonus (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM), e-signature and project/task tools such as Jira (nice-to-have)
  • Experience working across multiple markets, currencies or jurisdictions, ideally in payments, banking or a comparable regulated environment (nice-to-have)
