Product Analyst - Banking
This role involves taking ownership of the analysis process and facilitating the delivery of new fintech products and features across Africa.
The successful candidate will be responsible for eliciting and owning the requirements for new features and enhancements to core banking/ payments platforms.
They will take end-to-end ownership of business requirements from concept to release, working intricately with the development team, business team and 3rd parties to drive projects to completion. This includes driving momentum, unblocking progress, and stepping in before issues escalate. The role requires displaying tenacity and resilience in removing impediments to progress, identifying risks, inefficiencies, and suggesting improvements. Challenging the status quo and bringing new ideas forward on how to add value and improve delivery is also key. Pushing back when processes or assumptions are slowing things down is expected.
Collaboration with stakeholders to craft smart solutions to complex problems is essential. This involves diving into the detail by unpacking processes, business rules, and gathering requirements from multiple stakeholders. Translating high level business problems into actionable pieces of work and producing lean, useful artefacts such as process flows and business rules where needed is part of the role.
Ability to engage confidently with developers, business teams, and partners and tailor communication style accordingly is required. Passion for working closely with development and testing teams daily and building good working relationships with 3rd parties is also important. Knowing when to escalate and change approach when needed is necessary. Understanding technical concepts such as APIs, databases, and infrastructure, and being able to follow technical discussions and translate impact to the business is also a requirement. A strong understanding of the SDLC and frameworks like Agile and Scrum is needed.
