Head of Finance Data Delivery

Description

Super Group International is seeking a Head of Finance Data Delivery to own the end-to-end delivery of Group Finance Data across Super Group Africa and International. This role balances data operations and processing for month-end close with a portfolio of modernisation initiatives.

The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with Data Engineering leaders, leading through influence rather than direct authority, and will be the single point of accountability for how the finance data delivery runs. This position is crucial for ensuring that timely, accurate finance data allows Super Group's leadership to make fast, confident decisions across its regulated, multi-market betting operations, and keeps reporting compliant with the financial and regulatory obligations of a listed group.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end finance data delivery.
  • Own delivery of all Group Finance Data processes across Super Group Africa and International: acquisition, enrichment, matching, aggregation, transformation and publication to our single ERP platform.
  • Guarantee month-end delivery within business-day deadlines, personally overseeing close-cycle readiness checkpoints, support and post-close reviews.
  • Lead through influence, not authority. Partner daily with the Heads of Data Engineering (Africa and International) to align priorities, sequence demand and resolve resource conflicts early.
  • Own the modernisation portfolio. Scope, sequence and transparently report on initiatives to rebuild legacy data packages and pipelines.
  • Champion continuous improvement – better transparency and reporting.
  • Keep the ecosystem controlled and audit ready. Ensure data flows into the ERP and downstream reporting are complete, accurate and auditable.
  • Establish and uphold robust controls, governance and support the audit process.
  • Run the delivery cadence and senior stakeholder relationships. Set and run a weekly delivery dashboard for the Director, showing status, forward trajectory, blockers and agreed actions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, senior management and external audit, acting as the trusted escalation point during data incidents.
Requirements
  • Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas (required)
  • A collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross-functional teams to hit shared goals (required)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball (required)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work (required)
  • Adaptability – stay sharp, productive and positive in fast-moving environments (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of ETL/ELT data pipelines, data transformation and data quality management in high-volume environments (required)
  • A track record of delivering through teams you do not directly manage – matrix leadership, shared planning, and disciplined stakeholder influence (required)
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align finance and technology priorities (required)
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field) (required)
  • A postgraduate qualification (Honours, PGDip or MBA) (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (nice-to-have)
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (nice-to-have)
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (nice-to-have)
  • Experience in financial services, insurance or other regulated industries (nice-to-have)
  • 5 -8 years’ experience in data management, data delivery or technology programme leadership (in industry or consulting) (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms and orchestration/monitoring tooling (nice-to-have)
  • A programme management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, Agile/Scrum) (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central) and downstream financial reporting (nice-to-have)
  • Experience running medium to large scale data modernisation initiatives (nice-to-have)
Benefits
  • Learning and development programmes
  • Performance tool for feedback and career development
  • Employee Assistance Programme
