Billing Manager (Product Focus)

Description

Edlight is looking for a Billing Manager with a product focus to join its team. Edlight is a business that builds AI products and expert services for students and professionals.

This role involves owning and continuously improving payment performance for two B2C subscription products. The Billing Manager will work on first payment approval rate, rebill success rate, payment recovery, refunds, chargebacks, and payment-related conversion. Analysis of payment data by GEO, payment method, PSP, MID, card type, issuer/BIN, user segment, funnel, and product flow will be key. The role requires identifying payment bottlenecks and proposing hypotheses to improve approval/rebill rates and reduce payment losses.

The Billing Manager will work with PSPs, MIDs, payment routing, cascading, and retry/dunning logic together with Billing and Engineering teams. Participation in experiments with US/EU legal entity routing, payment setup, and different payment flows is expected. Collaboration with product teams on checkout, paywall, upsell, upgrade, and rebill-related experiments is also part of the role.

Working with Billing Operations and Support to reduce unnecessary refunds/chargebacks and improve the user payment experience is essential. The Billing Manager will prepare clear requirements for engineering teams and coordinate payment-related implementation. Monitoring payment provider performance and flagging issues, risks, or opportunities will be a regular task.
