Head of AML
The Head of AML reports to the Director of KYC and is responsible for supporting the governance and continuous improvement of the AML/CTF framework at BV Group. The role focuses on ensuring that AML controls remain effective, risk-based, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
BV Group requires this individual to support the MLRO in managing financial crime risks across the business. The position involves implementing AML strategy, strengthening control frameworks, driving operational improvements, and ensuring the organisation remains prepared for regulatory developments and evolving financial crime threats.
- Helping to develop and maintain the AML/CTF strategy, risk appetite and operating model, in line with the gaming financial crime risk assessment.
- Assisting the MLRO with designing, maintaining and enforcing AML/CFT policies, procedures and control frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the MLRO in the preparation and review of the AML/CTF risk assessment in relation to products, payment methods, customer activity and jurisdictions.
- Providing second-line testing, thematic reviews, and assurance over KYC/CDD, EDD, sanctions, and screening of AML operations.
- Attending AML governance forums and preparing clear reporting for senior management and relevant committees.
- Partnering with the MLRO and key stakeholders on regulatory engagement, audits and examination readiness.
- Developing AML training strategies and promoting financial crime awareness across the business.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancing AML technology, data quality and operational effectiveness.
- Monitoring regulatory changes, industry developments and emerging financial crime typologies impacting the gaming sector.
- Attending regulatory audits when required.
- Experience in AML, Financial Crime, Compliance or a related regulatory function, ideally within gaming, payments or fintech (required).
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations, financial crime risks and regulatory expectations (required).
- Solid experience in designing, implementing and governing AML frameworks and control environments (required).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, identify trends and recommend improvements (required).
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement, audits and senior stakeholder reporting (required).
- Experience of managing teams and helping people reach their full potential whilst ensuring quality standards are set high and maintained (required).
- Experience developing policies, procedures and risk-based compliance approaches (required).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment (required).
- Relevant AML qualifications such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent (nice-to-have).
