Senior Digital Workplace Engineer - Microsoft 365

Description

BV Group is seeking a Senior Digital Workplace Engineer to play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting the technologies that power its modern workplace. This is a senior, 3rd-line engineering position where the individual will act as the highest point of technical escalation for Digital Workplace services, resolving complex incidents that L1 and L2 teams cannot, and providing technical leadership and mentoring to those teams.

The role involves working across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity services, virtualisation, and cloud platforms to ensure the digital workplace remains secure, reliable, and efficient. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to drive continuous improvement, support business-critical services, and enhance the overall employee technology experience.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the 3rd-line technical authority for Digital Workplace services, owning complex incident and problem resolution escalated from L1/L2 teams, performing root-cause analysis, and working closely with vendors and internal teams.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Managing and enhancing endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune, including device provisioning, compliance policies, and application deployment across Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS estates.
  • Administering identity and access management services, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, SSO, and authentication security controls.
  • Supporting and maintaining virtualisation platforms, including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including migration/modernization work between platforms.
  • Provisioning, migrating, and supporting Azure infrastructure and business-critical cloud workloads.
  • Managing core infrastructure services, including DNS, DHCP, RADIUS/NPS, monitoring platforms, and data centre operations.
  • Ensuring compliance, security, and operational resilience through patch management, vulnerability remediation, data retention, and audit readiness activities.
  • Contributing to automation and process improvement initiatives using PowerShell, Power Platform, and other tools.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to L1 and L2 support teams, raising the overall capability of the wider support function.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Digital Workplace, Microsoft 365, or IT Operations engineering role, at a senior or 3rd-line level (required).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender (required).
  • Experience administering VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments (required).
  • Good understanding of endpoint security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation practices (required).
  • Experience supporting Azure cloud services and infrastructure workloads (required).
  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell (required).
  • Exposure to Power Platform is advantageous (nice-to-have).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams (required).
  • Proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement, operational resilience, and high-quality service delivery (required).
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager for device enrolment, app/license assignment, and Apple ID management (required).
