Senior IT Administrator
Catena Media is seeking an experienced Senior IT Administrator to manage day-to-day IT operations for its Malta office and to play a key role in automating the delivery of IT services. This is a hands-on role combining IT administration and service desk work with a strong focus on AI and automation, using automation platforms, scripting, and AI assistants to reduce repetitive manual tasks.
The successful candidate will administer and develop the Atlassian suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. They will build workflow improvements, automations, and integrations while providing secure, reliable, and high-quality IT support across Windows and Mac environments.
- Administer and continuously improve the Atlassian suite, including workflows, permissions, schemes, and automation rules.
- Design, build, and maintain automations that remove mundane, repetitive IT tasks using automation platforms, scripting, APIs, and native Atlassian automation.
- Act as the primary escalation point and internal expert for Atlassian-related issues and enhancements.
- Manage and support Windows and Mac devices through Intune and Jamf, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- Oversee asset management and full device lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning.
- Administer identity and access management through Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including provisioning, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and group policy.
- Manage system access, patching, and endpoint security in line with policies and compliance standards.
- Deliver efficient, high-quality IT service desk support with timely resolution of incidents and requests.
- Monitor service desk performance against SLA and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote IT, automation, and Atlassian best practices across the organisation.
- Identify, evaluate, and roll out AI tools to improve IT service delivery and end-user productivity.
- Continuously hunt for manual, repetitive work across IT and the wider business to automate and reduce effort.
- Build and maintain integrations between IT and business systems.
- Measure the impact of automation and AI initiatives and iterate.
- Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for systems, workflows, and configurations.
- Practical experience using AI tools in a work context, with a curiosity for where AI can replace manual effort (required).
- Hands-on experience with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including user and group management, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and licensing (required).
- Solid experience across the corporate IT toolset, including Microsoft 365, Intune, Jamf, and SaaS application administration (required).
- Working knowledge of Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (required).
- Self-motivated team player with a positive, service-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills (required).
- Strong understanding of IT systems and service desk operations with experience supporting end users in a fast-paced environment (required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with strong attention to detail (required).

- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, including exposure to administration and support of the Atlassian suite (required).
- Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking (required).
- Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers (nice-to-have).
- Experience building agentic or LLM-based workflows to automate support or operational tasks (nice-to-have).
- Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or similar for task automation (nice-to-have).
