AML Governance Analyst

Description

The company is seeking an AML Governance Analyst to play a key part in delivering a world-class governance and Quality Assurance function. This role involves getting hands-on with full and accurate EDD review assessments and quality assurance, together with internal AML tool management. The analyst's drive and ideas will help the organisation move faster, improve smarter, and stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities
  • EDD assessment and quality assurance: Full and accurate assessments of medium and high-risk case work completed by the EDD team on Betway Customers.
  • A review of all account information across various internal software applications.
  • A review of all information available on open-source information.
  • Quality Assurance of EDD case work from the EDD team.
  • Assessment of completed Medium and High-risk EDD cases.
  • Exercise restriction / withhold or release certain transactions when required to do so (via instruction or decision, as per guidelines set by the Head of Financial Crime Operations, Risk and Fraud & MLRO).
  • Liaise with internal stake holders who will be required to contact customers to request, discuss, explain and assist with document requirements in line with the EDD review.
  • Evaluate documentation to understand volume and source of wealth against the account activity.
  • Internal tool management/project work.
  • Monitoring of the customer risk rating tool alerts.
  • 3rd Party Provider Checks.
  • Work collaboratively with the EDD team and Head of Financial Crime Operations, Risk and Fraud & MLRO at all times.
  • Regulatory reporting production & submission.
  • Production and submission of regulatory reporting.
  • Aiding the investigation team with analysis of data from Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Submission of Casino Disbursement reports covering the Ontario Market.
  • Ad-hoc duties may be required from time to time.
Requirements
  • Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas (required).

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball (required).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work (required).
  • Adaptability – you stay sharp, productive and positive in fast-moving environments (required).
  • Fluent in English – strong written and verbal communication skills (required).
  • Degree / diploma or Certification in Risk Management, Compliance, Legal or related fields (required).
  • Minimum of 12 months experience within AML environment (required).
  • Strong understanding of regulations, processes, policies and procedures (required).
  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (nice-to-have).
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (nice-to-have).
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (nice-to-have).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel and Word) (nice-to-have).
  • Financial Crime Compliance & Responsible Gambling Knowledge (nice-to-have).
